Get RenameWise
for your Mac.
Free to try. No account, no upload — the AI ships with the app and runs on your machine.
First launch needs one extra step. Early-access builds aren't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS will refuse the first open. On macOS 15 and later, open it once, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. On macOS 13–14, right-click the app in Applications and choose Open. Either way it's once, and notarized builds ship with 1.0.
System requirements
| Mac | Apple Silicon (M1 or later) |
|---|---|
| macOS | 13 Ventura or newer |
| Memory | 8 GB (16 GB feels roomier on big batches) |
| Disk | ~5 GB free — the app plus its AI model |
| Internet | Only for the one-time model download. Everything after that works offline. |
Up and running in three steps
Install
Open the downloaded file and drag RenameWise into your Applications folder, like any Mac app.
Let it fetch its brain — once
On first launch, RenameWise downloads its AI model (about 3.3 GB) from the official model repository, verifying every byte against a pinned checksum. This happens exactly once; the model then lives on your Mac and the app never needs the internet again.
Drop a folder
Drag any folder onto the window. Watch the proposed names stream in, review them, and click Rename. Undo is one click away — forever.
Early access. RenameWise is in active development ahead of its 1.0 release. Expect rough edges, and please report anything that bites — the first-launch step is covered at the top of this page.
What the free version includes
Everything you need to judge it on your own files: unlimited content-aware analysis and name previews — forever, not for a trial period — the full review experience with inline diffs, search, and history, plus 100 applied renames. Nothing expires. See pricing for what the paid license adds.
